Lower Australian Unemployment Weighs on Euro Australian Dollar Exchange Rate
A better-than-expected improvement in the Australian unemployment rate helped to push the Euro to Australian Dollar (EUR/AUD) exchange rate.
While forecasts had pointed towards the unemployment rate falling in January the dip from 6.6% to 6.4% gave the Australian Dollar (AUD) a solid boost against its rivals.
Although unemployment remains high by historical standards investors still took encouragement from the fact that the labour market has shown signs of strengthening at the start of 2021.
However, the gains of AUD exchange rates were ultimately limited by the underlying details of the jobs report.
HANNIBAL â For the ninth consecutive year the city of Hannibal has scored 100% on its annual comprehensive risk management safety evaluation and audit. The results were announced during Tuesday nightâs meeting of the Hannibal City Council at city hall.
The evaluation and safety audit is conducted annually by MIRMA, the cityâs self-insured property/casualty, liability and workmanâs compensation carrier.
âAside from enhancing overall employee safety, higher evaluation scores do impact the amount the city is assessed in annual premiums,â said City Clerk Angel Zerbonia, the cityâs official executive safety officer and MIRMA representative.
In reaching the 100% plateau the city scored 1,139 points out of a possible 1,140, which Zerbonia said âis quite a task for a city of our size.â
